Julia Katcher, Associate Artistic Director
A native from Iowa, at the age of five Julia found her passion dancing. Throughout her career she has won several awards and scholarships including but not limited to the Chicago Human Rhythm Project full scholarship and Iowa Arts Council Scholarship for the Arts. She has toured with several companies around the United States including; Duarte Dance Works, Jennifer Kayle + Company: Good Dancers, Bad Language, University of Iowa's Dancer's In Company (Three Seasons), and is pleased to be dancing with Axxiom Dance Collective since 2006. In the coming year she will be assisting Joei Waldron as Artistic Director of Axxiom LA. Julia has been thrilled to perform with Axxiom at venues such as Carnival; Choreographers Ball, Studio A, Monkey Love Cafe, Arizona Dance Festival, Mix Match dance Festival and numerous venues around San Diego. She has studied under such artist's as Alan Sener, Eloy Barrigan, Deanna Carter, George De La Pena, Gabe Masson, and Jill Sigman. Julia graduated the University of Iowa with her BFA in dance and is looking forward to her future endeavors in her career. Enjoy the show!!
Jennika Cooper, Choreographer/Director/Dancer
Jennika started dancing in sixth grade performing in school talent shows. Jennika continued her training at Carlsbad High School where she studied, jazz, hip hop and ballet. After high school Jennika continued her training with Theo Ivy, Tessandra Chavez, Anthony Russell, Sue Gilson and Patriceann Meade. Jennika has performed with Xcalibur and Unity 2. Jennika is also a choreographer and has choreographed a variety of dances at Carlsbad High School, Palomar College and the Recreation Center of Oceanside. In 2008 Jennika was awarded the Dancer of the Year award at Palomar College. Jennika is happy to be dancing and would like to make it her career.
Lucas Jimenez, Choreographer/Dancer
Lucas started teaching dance when he was just 13 years old. Lucas trained in jazz and hip hop dance. Lucas has performed for Contagious Flow, Urban Steps All Star Hip Hop Team, and most recently TUK Bboy Dance Crew and Ill Flavored Rejects. Lucas competed in the Jamz National Championships in 2003, 2204, and 2006. In addition Lucas has appeared in a music video for Navaja, who is signed by Reggaton Recording. Currently Lucas is working as a gymnastics and dance instructor at Gym Kids. There Lucas teaches dance and gymnastic techniques to children and adults. Lucas currently serves as the Hip Hop Director and choreographer of Axxiom. Lucas is happy to spread his love of dance into the community.
